Selecting Linear Panels on a Curtain Wall

A common work flow is to select all the panels in a row to change them. The Select Linear Panels tool on the curtain wall mini toolbar lets you select all the panels inside an area, all that cross through an area, or all that are perfectly in a line.

The Select linear panels tool selects number of panels in the selection range

  1. After a curtain wall is placed, select the panel in the row/column of start range. The mouse hover on center edit handle for a selected panel opens the mini toolbar.
  2. To select multiple panels, say in first 4 columns as in above illustration, select the (Select Linear Panels) tool. The selection bar appear on current row. Press <Ctrl> to set the selection mode and move cursor along the adjacent columns to pick the range.
  3. Click data point to accept marking the selection range of consistent panels. The selected panels will be highlighted for the given range.
  4. (Optional) For selecting panels in rows, press <Shift> once to swap the selection range (from default columns to rows). Continue selection of panels in rows as described above.
You can select number of panels in series that have their edges collinear at selection lines. For example the panels that are identical and having sides on selector edge aligning get selected.

Example of selecting similar panels in the range

Use the selection mode wisely using the mouse click and keyboard keys:
  • Press <Shift> to change orientation.
  • Click a data point to place selection fence.
  • Press <Ctrl> to change selection mode.
  • Click a data point to confirm selection range.
  • Right Click to reselect.

For panels fenced in irregular shape, consider selecting linear panels selectively.
